Nachdem sie im November 2007 ihr Debütalbum "Cue to Exit" veröffentlichten, erfreuen Script of Flood ihre Fans knapp ein Jahr später bereits mit ihrer Promo-EP "Window" und den darauf enthaltenen, vier Songs.

Mit ihrem neuen Material beweisen die fünf Musiker, wie variabel und abwechslungsreich Musik sein kann. Selten hatte ich so viele unterschiedliche Meinungen zu einzelnen Songs. Lediglich bei "Window" blieb der erste Eindruck nachhaltig und durchweg unverändert positiv - bei jedem Hören.
Während "Self-Inflicted" am Anfang noch überraschend schwer zugänglich scheint, wird erst mit der Zeit deutlich, dass gerade diese Tatsache ihn so besonders macht. Vor allem die Variation in der Melodieführung weiß auch nach mehrmaligem Hören doch immer wieder zu beeindrucken.
Auch "Once" ist durchaus gelungen. Zwar fehlt meiner Meinung nach das gewisse Etwas, doch für andere mag dieser Titel vielleicht sogar der Beste der Platte sein.
Als letzter Track sei auch "Lost among the light" genannt. Ebenfalls energiegeladen, hat dieser wirklich Ohrwurmpotential und setzt sich für lange Zeit im Kopf fest.

Zwar ist diese EP nicht im Handel erhältlich, doch allen Interessierten empfehle ich das Reinhören in die neuen Tracks auf dem Myspace-Profil der Band.
Script of Flood machen Musik zum Zuhören und wen sie einmal von ihrem Können überzeugen konnten, den werden sie sicher lange Zeit an ihrer Seite haben.
Verglichen mit ihrem Debüt, welches bereits ziemlich gelungen war, beeindrucken mich diese vier Songs noch ein gutes Stück mehr und ebnen der Band so hoffentlich den Weg in eine strahlende Zukunft.

After releasing their debut "Cue to Exit" in November 2007 Script of Flood are now back with their Promo-EP "Window", which contains four new songs.

Coming along with their new material they approve once more how diversified music can be and should be. It is a long time ago that I had to deal with so many different impressions of a few single tracks.
But after listening to those songs for quite some time I'm able to evaluate - at least for me - what those guys have created.
First and foremost I'm totally into "Window". The way it starts already points out that this song is going to be a very special one. The lyrics as well as the calm melody are quite captivating and I guess this is a capability the song is never going to lose.
While "Self-Inflicted" seemed to be kind of difficult in the beginning it turned out that this is probably the main driving force of this song. Its variations in the melody are still interesting and even though I have listened to the song a few times it never gets boring.
"Once" is another great song but for me there is still something missing in the track which makes it kind of outstanding. Though I think that a lot of people would rate this song as one of the best on the whole EP.
The last track "Lost among the light" is again a very energetic one that uses to stuck in the head for a while due to its catchy tunes.

Although this EP is not going to be officially released, of course everyone who's interested has the chance to get to know the new tracks on the band's myspace profile.
Script of Flood's music is worth listening and if they managed to convince you, one will probably get back to them at least every once in a while.
Compared to their debut, which was quite good already, those four songs might be the best I've heard from this band so far, leading the way to a hopefully bright future for Script of Flood.
